Jessika was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany; highly regarded as an established film actress and successful commercial model in her native Germany, Jessika re-discovered art in recent years. Following her early educational pursuits in graphic design at the Fachoberschule für Graphik und Gestaltung in Hamburg, she continued her studies at the Parson School of Design in New York, and in the Fine Art program at UCLA. As the foundation for her artwork, she privileges large scale canvas and linen, but also employs craft packing paper, large cardboard mattes and clear, unfinished veneer. She uses oil colors, oil sticks, Kremer powder color pigments, charcoal and aquarelles, to create her large scale animal paintings and expressive landscapes. Jessika believes that “every art will find its own home”, and her canvases, abounding with vivid, dynamic colors, expressive strokes, and interpretive forms, suit the varying tastes of individual homes, hotel lobbies, and other indoor institutions. Her works were featured in Elle Décor (Germany) in January 2005, as a testament to their versatility.  Yet still, for Jessika, the work serves as a personal experience and direct connection to her viewers, regardless of the work’s “home”.
